Specific Need

Awareness: Every $1 spent on prevention saves $20 on future drug charges, community damage, broken families and drug rehab

Time: One hour a week for a kid who is at risk of falling behind in school reduces their likelyhood to use drugs by 46%

Resources: People who care, Encourage, share the message and financial donations for

• Background screening for volunteers going in USD 308 schools
• Volunteer trainings
• Family meals to bring parents and youth together for the Strengthening Families Program
• Written materials and supplies for youth programs including Life Skills, Tobacco interventions, Leadership Skills Trainings, Leadership Activities

Mission

Mission Statement: To promote healthy youth behaviors through mentoring, substance use prevention, suicide prevention, strengthening families and youth leadership.

Profile

Rise Up Reno Prevention Network is rallying the community, especially the youth to live drug free.

Successes include:

1. Lowered rates in teen alcohol and tobacco use
2. Raised rates of commitment to school and high school graduation
3. Brought Drug Take-Back boxes to Hutchinson and South Hutchinson
4. Encouraged all Reno County towns to activate Tobacco Free Parks 
5. Training a diverse coalition to work together for like goals
